Martin has over 20 years experience in workplace safety, including construction, demolition and manufacturing. He is also experienced in safety at sports grounds and is an accomplished trainer. Martin is a chartered member of I.O.S.H. and a full member of I.I.R.S.M, and a registered member (CDM Co-Ordinator) with the Association of Project Safety (APS). He has recently been accepted onto the Government backed Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register (OSHCR).

Phil has worked in the health & safety profession since 1989 and during that time, has acted as Project Safety Manager on several multi-million pound projects. He is an experienced training provider, a chartered member of I.O.S.H. and a full member of I.I.R.S.M. He has recently been accepted onto the Government backed Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register (OSHCR).

Katherine Darney MSc CMIOSH RMaPS MIIRSM

Health & Safety Consultant & CDM Co-Ordinator

Kath has a BSc (Hons) Degree in Building Technology and Management and a M.Sc in Health, Safety and Environmental Management. She is a registered member (CDM Coordinator) of the Association of Project Safety (RMaPS).  Kath has extensive experience in safety management within the construction industry and in the role of CDM Co-ordinator on a variety of civil engineering, construction and demolition projects. Kath is a chartered member of I.O.S.H. and a full member of  I.I.R.S.M.  She has recently been accepted onto the Government backed Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register (OSHCR).

Phil Smart

Office Manager, Graphic Design & IT

Phil is responsible for the design & presentation of client documentation. He is constantly reviewing and updating the content of SWSC’s Safety Management Systems, a task which has resulted in the creation of a fully customised interactive CD-Rom Manual containing Policy Statements, Safe Systems of Work and a wide range of safety management forms. Phil also designed and maintains our website and iPhone app.

Andy Hall Tech IOSH

Health & Safety Consultant

Andy has many years experience in electrical engineering and health and safety.  Andy is also an experienced trainer and delivers many of our popular training courses including health and safety awareness, manual handling, work at height and asbestos awareness. Andy holds the NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates and is a member of I.O.S.H.

Health & Safety Consultant

Martin joined SWSC after a distinguished army career, rising to the rank of Major.  He has gained wide experience in health and safety management, environmental management, training and development. He is  Member of the British Empire, holds a Masters degree in Human Resources Management, is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management, a member of IOSH and a member of the City & Guilds Institute.

Alan Thomas BSc (Hons)

Health & Safety Consultant

Alan has gained a wide experience in construction health and safety, having served as Project Safety Manager on a number of multi-million pound contracts.  He also has wide experience of specialist areas such as steel-making and civil engineering. Alan holds the NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

Jeff Gibbs

Health & Safety Advisor

Jeff gained his experience in health and safety, having spent nearly 20 years in construction site management. He is also very experienced in dealing with pre-qualification and contractor competence issues. Jeff holds the NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

Kirsty Pritchard  BA (Hons)

Safety & Training Administrator

Kirsty is responsible for the preparation and collation of post construction Health and Safety Files.  This involves liaising with designers, sub-contractors and clients on a regular basis.  She is also our training administrator, dealing with enquiries, bookings, course arrangements and certification.

Tricia McEwan

Accounts & General Administrator

Tricia is responsible for maintaining our efficient and accurate accounting management system, as well as providing administrative support to our Consultants and Client base.

Paul Firman  Tech IOSH

Training Provider

Paul is an experienced trainer with a background in the military and construction management.  His professional qualifications include Technician member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Affiliate member of the Institute for Learning (IFL).  He has many years of experience of lecturing on health and safety related courses, including the ConstructionSkill’s Site Safety Plus schemes, Streetworks, Scaffold Inspection, Director’s Responsibilities in Health and Safety training, etc.

   

Charlie Quinn B.A. CMIOSH  MIIRSM

Training Provider

Charlie is an experienced trainer with a background in construction.  He worked within the Further Education sector for approximately 30 years as a Senior Lecturer and the College Safety Advisor.  His professional qualifications include Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.  He is also a PTLLS approved tutor (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector).  He is experienced in lecturing on various health and safety related courses, including the ConstructionSkill’s Site Safety Plus schemes, Scaffold Inspection, etc.
